Other visa kinds, including as the F-type, E-type, A-type, etc., that allow foreign students to enroll in a degree-seeking program at a Korean university are also accepted.

However, short-term visas like the B-type or C-type visas are unacceptable since they prevent foreigners from enrolling in academic programs at a Korean university. The candidate can obtain a student visa (D-2) at a Korean embassy or consulate in their place of residence.

The Certificate of Admission (CoA), which will be granted by the International Education Team at Korea University, is one of the documents needed to apply for a student visa (D-2).

Also required are verification of final academic credentials and a financial statement (such as a bank account or scholarship) that shows the student’s budget for spending while studying abroad.

Remember that it could take a while for these documents to be issued and that you might be asked to meet further requirements along the way.

Therefore, it is advised that students get in touch with the Korean embassy or consulate in their home country well in advance to get the necessary documents for a student visa (D-2) application and to get them ready in advance to obtain the visa on time.
