There are so many recording studios in Abuja and I’ve had the opportunity to try a couple of them.
But if you want to record your own music then it’s important that you know where to go and what to expect before you get there and this list will help with that.
The List of Recording Studios in Abuja
1. Clique Records
Established in 2004 by Adejuwon, Clique Records is a Nigerian recording studio that also doubles as a record label. It has won the coveted best recording studio award from Nigeria’s biggest indigenous entertainment awards, The Headies.
Their clients include top African stars such as 2Face Idibia, Wande Coal, and D’banj. Some of their popular recordings are D’banj’s Oliver Twist and Wasted and 2Face Idibia’s African Queen. The former recorded his album of the same name at Clique.
They have four studios in total, including one which can accommodate live bands. One of their most famous artists is Dr Sid who records all his music there.
He’s one of the few artists who record with analog equipment for that warm, old-school sound.

2. Four/Five Sound Complex
Four/Five Sound Complex is a professional recording studio and music production company located in Abuja, Nigeria. The studio has been operational since 2006, and they are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.
Four/Five Sound Complex also offers other services like video production, editing, mastering, and post-production.
They have an excellent sound engineer and have great sound engineers on staff. They produce all genres of music such as Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Reggae, and Afrobeat among others.
Some notable clients include P-Square, Banky W, Timaya, and Lil Kesh. It is run by Femi Francis who is one of the most talented producers in Nigeria today.
He is renowned for his professionalism and creativity. Their rates range from N250,000 – 400,000 depending on the duration of time needed for your project.

3. Sun City Studio
Sun City Studio is a recording studio located on the 3rd floor of Sun House, Gwarinpa. The studio has a capacity for 30 people and is equipped with an SSL 4064E console and Pro Tools HD3 Accel System. Some artists who have recorded here are Timi Dakolo, D’banj, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Davido.
Sun City offers recording services as well as production, editing, and mastering. With the affordability of their rates, they provide a suitable service for any type of artist or project.
It’s one of my favorite studios because I find it very homey and comfortable. If you need quality recordings at affordable prices then this is the place to go.

4. Sango Music Production Centre
This studio is home to some of the most prestigious music producers and performers in Nigeria.
On top of their state-of-the-art production equipment, they also offer a range of aftercare services like editing, mastering, and video post-production.
Studio 4’s founder, Demmie Vee has worked with international superstars like Usher, Justin Bieber, and Beyonce as well as Nigerian artists such as Wizkid and Davido.
Studio 4 was designed with an African aesthetic that you will not find anywhere else in the world! It is situated in Maitama which makes it easy for those living in other parts of Abuja to access it.

5. Sounds By Preeksoundz
Sounds By Preeksoundz is a state-of-the-art studio with all the latest equipment and facilities. They offer music production, recording, mixing, and mastering services for all your needs.

Capital Records is the premier recording studio in Nigeria and the first of its kind. The studio has been home to some of Nigeria’s most famous artists, including Davido, Wizkid, P-Square, Waje, Iyanya, and many more, located at 45B Aminu Kano Crescent Maitama Garki Abuja.

8. Pyramids Recording Studio
Pyramids Recording Studio is one of the best recording studios in Nigeria. It is located on the outskirts of Abuja, and it offers professional recording services, mixing and mastering, video production, and photography.
The studio also has a cafe where you can have a drink while listening to your new song. They offer complimentary tea and coffee with a light snack.

9. Freetone Music Studio
Located at Gwarimpa, Freestone Music Studio is one of the most well-known studios in Nigeria and has been around since 1978. In 2005, it was also awarded a 10-year lease by the Federal Government.
With 30 years of experience in the industry and an extensive client list, this studio will not disappoint you with its sound quality or customer service. # 3 Recordings Studio: Started out in 2006, #3 Recordings offers excellent quality for reasonable prices.
The only problem with this studio is that they’re only open until 7 pm on weekdays! But they make up for that by having a Day After recording session where you can come in after work and record any music you want.
So if late nights are your thing, this is your spot! 4th Street Records: With low rates (around 500Naira per hour) and five different locations throughout Lagos, 4th Street Records is perfect for those who want something convenient.
They also offer full production services from live band instrumentation to vocal arrangements.

10. Jukebox Studio Abuja
Jukebox Studio is one of the best recording studios in Nigeria. It has excellent space for recording and it’s equipped with some of the most advanced equipment. They also have a great team who are experts at all things audio and video.
Some big names that they’ve worked with include Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Tekno, DJ Cuppy, Ice Prince, and many others.
One of their major advantages is that they can record anything from small acoustic tracks to full-blown drum sessions.
